We are using your api and by default we have chosen to always pass duplex and colour for all our letters. However we noticed that if we send a one page letter that it is still treated as duplex (i.e. a blank page is appended to it in the preview and we are charged for it. Surely this doesn't make sense and your system should recognise only one page is being passed and therefor not to print it as duplex but just one page simplex and charge accordingly?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

I believe you've already been in contact with the support team, but I'll post the details here for reference:

The system currently obeys the simplex/duplex setting that you enter on the order.
We do not want to make the decision for the customer on paging as this introduces
a risk of us making the wrong decision, for example merge fields taking a 1 page
letter onto a second page and therefore should be duplex.

Our production runs simplex and duplex as separate streams so it is important that
the information is on the order.

We will consider your suggestion for future developments and functionality on the
system and discuss with the team.

Cheers.
Will

Thanks Will. Yes I posted here then decided to email too! Guess it helps others if they have similar questions.

Cheers,

Matt
